Steamboat Springs, Colorado—Today, The Steamboat Institute announced its inaugural Film Festival to coincide with the 9th Annual Freedom Conference and Festival, August 24-26, in Steamboat Springs.  The film festival – which is free and open to the public - will feature two movies, both of which highlight the freedom of all people to pursue life, liberty, and personal happiness, as well as the importance of religious freedom and the corresponding societal integrity. Both films are free and open to the public, but donations are appreciated.  All donations will go directly to support the work of Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports (“STARS”), a local non-profit organization which empowers and enriches the lives of people with disabilities through adaptive recreational activities.

Amazing Grace will be shown on Thursday, August 24th, at 8:00 PM at the Steamboat Stage in Gondola Plaza

Let There Be Light—a film produced by Sean Hannity—will be shown on Saturday, August 26th at 3:00 PM at the Chief Theater, located at 813 Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat Springs. The movie follows the life of a successful atheist author and speaker, played by Kevin Sorbo, as he slowly turns to faith to save his family and his life. The event will also feature remarks by co-star and co-producer, Sam Sorbo.

“The inaugural Freedom Conference Film Festival features inspiring films that highlight the principles of individual liberty and religious freedom,” said Jennifer Schubert-Akin, CEO of The Steamboat Institute. “We’re excited to add this film festival to our signature annual conference and expect it to grow in popularity in the years ahead.”
