1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
It’s time for the 2nd Steamboat Launch!
It is already time for our second event in an ongoing series of opportunities for local businesses to pitch to accredited investors. Steamboat Launch will provide a formal channel for connecting our community of passionate entrepreneurs to the capital and mentorship they need to maximize their success. We hope you will show your support for the local community and Steamboat’s economic development by joining us Thursday, February 15th, at 1:00 PM at the Chief Theater in Steamboat Springs.
So that we can best plan, we are asking all attendees to register at
You will be asked if you are an accredited investor. If you’re not sure what that means, you can click here to find out. You are welcome to attend whether you are an accredited investor or not, but due to legal concerns, only accredited investors will be offered term sheets for investment.
Who Will Be Presenting?
We are very fortunate to have 5 presenters which span the gap from conception to established companies looking for growth capital. The presenters include:
Felt App Felt is the highest quality, most personal way to send real, handwritten cards and photos to friends and loved ones. Your handwriting is 100% authentic, like you wrote it with pen and paper. It’s personal mail for the modern world: beautiful, fun and couldn’t be simpler.
The Pad was created in order to accommodate the modern traveler who prioritizes experience, adventure and new friendships. We will provide a chic and comfortable hotel-hostel hybrid that is environmentally conscious and efficient in design, and is appealing to both the younger and vintage crowds.
InnovativeAg is an established provider of microgreens and other goods to Steamboat restaurants. InnovativeAg is actively expanding their mushroom growing capabilities to include container grows systems that can be sold nationwide.
At Kokopelli Packraft, our vision is to create the opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to explore nature in its most serene settings.
Do you think kids can be entrepreneurs? We know they can. We see it every day in our own community. That's why this to-be-named Steamboat company is building a new ecommerce site designed specifically to educate and enable the under 18 crowd.
What’s the Format?
Steamboat Launch will include 5 companies seeking traditional investment. After a 10-15 minute intro period, each presenter will have approximately 7 minutes to present their company followed by 7 minutes of Q&A. After the pitches are all over, each presenter will be available on stage to talk with in more detail. The hope is that our many accredited investors will use this opportunity to reach out for further discussion. Afterwards we will have cash bar with free drink tickets available for accredited investors and special guests. This is the time to trade business cards and ask detailed questions of the companies pitching. In addition, about 15 Steamboat companies will have tables set up at the Chief, showing off just a little bit of what's happening in Steamboat.
Please Invite Others
This event is specifically targeting accredited investors but should be of great interest to anyone considering fundraising or just hoping to support the Steamboat economy. Steamboat Launch will continue with pitch sessions planned every 6 months, with new companies pitching every February and August. So, even if this February 15 event doesn’t fit into your investing or fundraising cycle, please come out to support the local economy and this exciting new avenue for entrepreneurs to connect to investors. A lot of people have asked how they can help with this event. The best thing to do at this point is to help make sure the right people show up in force.
Who Can I Thank?
This event is organized and hosted by Four Points Funding and Startup Colorado along with support from Steamboat Chamber Resort Association and the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center, as well as a long list of dedicated community members. We are looking forward to growing our list of mentors, investors and presenters.
